Juneteenth Celebration Offers Jazz Concert and Festive Family Fun to Celebrate Black History

Juneteenth marks the anniversary of Union troops marching into Galveston, Texas in 1865 to announce the end of the Civil War and the freedom of all enslaved people. Thanks to the support of the First Selectman’s Diversity Advisory Committee and generous contributions from town organizations and residents, the Historical Society’s campus will have something for all ages and interests at this year’s Juneteenth celebration to honor the contributions of the enslaved and people of color who resided in Greenwich since its inception.
