On Saturday, March 2, Christ Church Greenwich will host a Women’s Conference titled “Mind, Body, Spirit,” bringing together 250 women of diverse ages and backgrounds. The event, scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 254 East Putnam Ave., Greenwich, will feature a series of talks and workshops by renowned thought leaders. This year’s theme focuses on personal growth and wellness, with each participant choosing her sessions for a tailored experience. Tickets, including breakfast and lunch, are available for $110 at christchurchgreenwich.org.
The conference, known for selling out in previous years, promises an enriching day on the church’s 10-acre campus. Co-chaired by Carrie Sponheimer and The Rev. Dr. Cheryl McFadden, Senior Associate Rector, the event will commence with opening remarks by Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons.
Kathleen Silard, MS, BSN, RN, FACHE, President and CEO of Stamford Health, is the keynote speaker. She will address the US Surgeon General’s report on loneliness and isolation, highlighting its public health implications and the importance of community.
The lineup of workshops and talks includes diverse topics such as spiritual practices, joy in daily life, longevity secrets, and women’s health. Presenters like Rev. Dr. Julie Faith Parker, Nicole Zasowski, and Sarah Swanberg DACM LAc will share insights on spiritual empowerment, embracing joy, and holistic wellness approaches.
Additional sessions feature Cristina Young, CSW, on parenting and adolescent brain development; Lynne Jordal Martin discussing spiritual practices; Elizabeth Fitts, PhD, on centering prayer; and Angela Kilcullen leading a yoga session. Practical sessions include Jane Erbe, OTR/L, on sensory processing for child development, and Kitty Brown’s cooking workshop focused on ancient grains.
Addressing more serious issues, Louisa Winthrop from the YWCA Greenwich Harmony Project will discuss trauma and healing in relationships. The conference also prioritizes midlife health, with Alicia Robbins, MD, NCMP, from The Elm, elaborating on its significance.
