Greenwich Police Dept. Statement on Social Media Post Concerning Guns in School

The Greenwich Sentinel received this statement this morning from Capt. John Slusarz, Greenwich Police Department

On the night of 2/27/24 Greenwich Police were made aware of an anonymous social media posting that alleged that there were a group of Greenwich High School students who may be in possession of a gun. This posting caused grave concern amongst the community.

An investigation by the Police Department was immediately conducted and it was deemed that the allegation was not true.  Currently, there is no threat to the Greenwich High School or the community.

The police department and the Board of Education takes these types of complaints very seriously.  In the event of a threat to any of our schools, students, or staff the Police Department should be contacted directly and immediately.
