Meals-on-Wheels, Inc. of Greenwich is blessed to have organizations in town that contribute to the happiness of our clients. First, the Greenwich Senior Center’s Cupids Crew Event provided hand made Valentine’s Day cards created by members to be distributed to our clients. Patricia Bykowski, Senior Center Administrator, organized the event to help enrich our clients’ lives and recalled that her members were so happy to create the cards. Cards include uniquely written well wishes for a Happy Valentine’s Day!
The Greenwich Senior Center is a focal point for life enrichment where members can form and maintain friendships and engage in activities that promote overall health and well being. Membership is free and a wide variety of offerings at the Senior Center are scheduled daily. There’s something for everyone at the Senior Center.
Second, Hortulus donated beautiful colorful bouquets of flowers as a special treat for the Meals-on-Wheels, Inc. of Greenwich clients. Each client received a specially crafted bunch of flowers in vibrant colors.
Hortulus was founded in 1930. The purpose of Hortulus is to stimulate the knowledge and love of gardening and creative design and to protect, restore and improve the quality of the environment through education, programs and action in the fields of conservation and civic improvement. Members are women who share a love for all things gardening.
Meals-on-Wheels wants you to know that our help is available. Not only do we help with healthy prepared meals, but we provide kindness and comfort to our clients by partnering with some amazing groups of people in Greenwich. Delivering cards and flowers with the meals are minor care touch points we bring to our clients. This is just one of the many ways Meals-on-Wheels, Inc. of Greenwich works to enhance our clients’ lives.
Meals-on-Wheels help is available to anyone who lives in Greenwich. No medical referrals required. No complicated forms to complete. We deliver nutritional fully prepared meals to those who cannot shop and cook for themselves for any length of time. Daily two-meal service for lunch and dinner is $7 per day. One meal a day is $5.50. You pick the days you want meals delivered. All it takes is one phone call.
Meals-on-Wheels is dedicated to serving vulnerable Greenwich citizens. Its community-based approach and its positive impact on the well-being of its clients relies on the compassion and support of volunteers and donors to continue its vital work in our town.
