Student-Curated Exhibit Celebrates South Asian American Youth Heritage
India Cultural Center, UConn Asian and Asian American Studies Institute and Greenwich Historical Society have partnered on a student-curated exhibit to celebrate South Asian American youth heritage. The ‘Our Story, Our Future’ exhibit features memorabilia student participants collected from oral history interviews with family members on how their stories of immigration and life in India shaped their identities. Their interviews also will help support the state’s K-12 Asian American & Pacific Islander curriculum.
What’s not to love with what a handwritten letter can bring!
On the eve of St. Valentine’s Day journalist Anne W. Semmes addresses what she sees as a lost art, handwritten letters flowing in ink, by sharing snippets from a cache of love letters written to her years ago by a now passed Englishman and professor of English literature.
