YMCA of Greenwich Launches New Youth Programs for Winter

The YMCA of Greenwich is offering a variety of new programs and returning favorites for the Winter 1 session, which begins November 27.

The programs that are returning for the winter session include Tumble, Twos Time, Ballet, Basketball with Greenwich Stars, Cartoon Art with The Comic Tree, and Swimming lessons for all ages and experience levels.

Some of the new programs to be offered include Chess with Chess Max Academy, Hands On Art with Wells Noonan, and Y-Adaptive Sports, a program geared toward young athletes, K-8th grade, with Special Needs. In Y-Adaptive Sports, each participant will be paired 1:1 with a middle or high school volunteer to learn soccer skills using a special education curriculum in a safe environment.

The YMCA of Greenwich has also recently launched wellness programs for teens ages 11-18, including Non-contact Boxing and Strength Conditioning. These new teen programs arrive at the perfect time, as the Y has also recently announced some exciting changes to their Wellness Center policies to enhance the experience for our young members. Teens will now be able to use facilities at the YMCA of Greenwich, including the Boxing Loft, Wellness Room, and Indoor Basketball Court, during exclusive hours and without parental supervision.

Registration for Winter 1 Programs begins on Monday, November 6 for members of the YMCA of Greenwich. Registration will open on Monday, November 13 for non-members. View all the Y’s youth program offerings and schedules online at https://www.greenwichymca.org/programs-services/programs/
