Greenwich Together announces a showing of “Screenagers Under the Influence”, a film about the relationship between technology and substance use among teens. The film covers the digital impact of today on teens’ decision making abilities in regards to drugs, alcohol, and vaping.
The screening will take place on Sunday, November 5, from 3 to 5 P.M. at the Bruce Museum, located at 1 Museum Dr, Greenwich.
The film hones in on ways to help families discuss topics like substance abuse with the teens, from a media based standpoint, which gives them tips on how to support their children. Today in age teens are constantly exposed to imagery and pressure around substance use through social media. The documentary and Greenwich Together want to promote healthy environments and how teens are already standing up to making harmful choices.
Greenwich Together recognizes the importance of these findings and is committed to working collaboratively with the local community to address the needs and concerns that affect our youth today. This event includes research and personal experiences, focusing on how we can empower teens to make good decisions surrounding drugs, alcohol, and vaping.
Parents and teens grades 9-12 are encouraged to attend.
