Chamber Players of the Greenwich Symphony to open 52nd season

The Chambers Players of the Greenwich Symphony open their 52nd season with a pair of concerts titled “Baroque Perspectives” on Sunday, October 8, 3pm at Round Hill Community Church, 395 Round Hill Rd, Greenwich, and Monday, October 9, 7:30pm at Greenwich Historical Society, Vanderbilt Education Center, 47 Strickland Road, Cos Cob.

The Chamber Players will perform GF Handel’s Concerto Grosso Op. 6 No. 10, Henry Purcell’s “Here the Deities Approve,” François Couperin – Sonade from La Piémontoise, Benedetto Marcello’s Concerto for Oboe in C minor, Domenico Scarlatti’s Keyboard Sonatas K 201 in G major and K 517 in D minor, and Johann Sebastian Bach’s Selections from Secular Cantatas. Joining the Chamber Players for the Bach Cantatas is guest baritone Bryan Murray.

Complimentary “Wine and Cheese” receptions are after the Sunday concert, and during intermission of the Monday performance, offering an opportunity to chat with the chamber musicians and friends.

Subscriptions for the 52nd Season are $100 for adults, $15 for students. Single concert tickets are $35 for adults, $5 for students.

About Guest Musician Bryan Murray:
Bryan Murray is a NYC based lyric baritone. His recent engagements include Zuniga in Carmen with Hogfish Music Festival, Jupiter in Orpheus in the Underworld with Opera Ithaca, the priest and fisherman in Kaija Saariaho’s Only the Sound Remains at The Biennale in Venice, Strasbourg festival, and Tokyo Bunka Kaikan. Prior to the covid shutdown, Bryan had a one year contract with Deutsche Oper Berlin as a Stipendiat, performing comprimario roles in 12 productions for the 2018/19 season including: Fiorello in Il barbiere di Siviglia , Moralès in Carmen , and Marullo in Rigoletto. On the concert stage, Bryan has performed with NY Baroque Inc. and Teatro Grattacielo in Manhattan, the Deutsche Oper Berlin Orchestra, the Yale Philharmonia, the Jacksonville symphony, the New Haven Symphony, and the Yale Camerata. Bryan obtained a Master of Musical Arts degree in opera performance from Yale University’s School of Music under the tutelage of Richard Cross and Doris Yarick-Cross.
