Dr. Stephanie Paulmeno, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), and a founder of At Home in Greenwich, will be the guest of honor at the Annual Benefit for At Home on Friday, September 29 at 6:30 pm at the Delamar Greenwich Harbor.
The Board of Directors for At Home in Greenwich will celebrate Dr. Paulmeno as a wonderful asset to our community. She is honored for her significant and lasting impact on the lives of seniors and their families.
After graduating from the Beth Israel Medical Center School of Nursing, Dr. Paulmeno worked in various health care, senior care, and nursing home settings before focusing on public health. She went on to receive a BS in Gerontology from St. Thomas Aquinas College, an MS in Gerontology from the College of New Rochelle, her Nursing Home Administration training from Quinnipiac College, and a Doctorate in Nursing from Quinnipiac University.
Much of her career has been spent improving the health care of Connecticut and Greenwich residents. Dr. Paulmeno has served as Director of the Greenwich Adult Day Care (now River House), Director of Community Health Planning for the Greenwich Department of Health, and as a Commissioner on the Greenwich Commission on Aging. She served for the full duration of its tenure as a Commissioner on the Connecticut Commission on Health Equity and as President of the Connecticut Nurses Association. She is currently Chairman of the Board of The Patient is U Foundation, co-lead of the Health Sector of the international Charter for Compassion and is a Board member of both the Southwestern Connecticut Area Agency on Aging and Wheel It Forward. She is an active member of the Greenwich Medical Reserve Corps and the Connecticut Nurses Honor Guard.
Recognizing the need for an organization that would support older adults as they age in place, Dr. Paulmeno became one of the founding members of At Home in Greenwich, which offers support, services and social connections for seniors who wish to stay in their homes. She has served on the Board of At Home, now in its 15th year, and is currently on its Advisory Council.
