Temple Sholom in Greenwich, announced the appointment of Lori Baden as the Temple’s next Executive Director and Scott Kramer as the incoming President.
Baden, a Connecticut native and Stamford resident, has been with Temple Sholom for almost 15 years and has been instrumental in overseeing the areas of membership, programming, marketing and fundraising. In 2014, she was promoted to Temple Sholom’s Associate Executive Director and has succeeded in developing strong connections within the congregation, its leadership, and many local community organizations. Baden is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and holds a certificate in nonprofit management. She currently serves as the President of the Board of Trustees for the University of Connecticut Hillel.
“I am thrilled to step into the role of Executive Director of this vibrant and inclusive community,” said Baden, who was unanimously voted to succeed Executive Director Eileen Robin following the announcement of her retirement. “Temple Sholom has been my home for so many years and I am honored to step in as Eileen retires. She and I have been working closely over this past year to ensure a smooth transition. Eileen has been an exceptional leader and mentor for the past 10 years and has left Temple Sholom with a solid foundation for the future.”
Joining Baden in the next chapter of Temple Sholom’s leadership will be another familiar face, Scott Kramer, as incoming President. Kramer recently served as Vice President of Programming and chair of the synagogue’s Social Action Committee, and refers to Temple Sholom as his “spiritual home” since childhood. He grew up in the Greenwich area and celebrated every life-cycle event at Temple Sholom beginning with his Bar Mitzvah. Professionally, he is the Managing Director at SIFMA, an association that serves the financial services industry. Kramer replaces Alexandra Hochman, Temple Sholom’s second woman president in its history, following the conclusion of her four-year term.
“I’m very grateful for the dedication and leadership that Alexandra has exhibited during her term as President,” said Kramer, who like Baden is also a Stamford resident. “She has piloted our congregation through the past few difficult years and it is my privilege to follow in her footsteps.”
