White Plains Hospital sponsored and moderated a “Meet the Media” panel in collaboration with the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce on Monday, June 12, at the Greenwich YMCA. The event attracted local business leaders and professionals.

Designed to help local Greenwich professionals increase exposure for their businesses, the panel was moderated by Dawn French, SVP, Marketing and Community Relations at White Plains Hospital. Ms. French brought her previous experience as TV news producer and assignment editor to the lively discussion. The panelists consisted of local media pros and a social media savvy small business, including Cristin Marandino, editorial director, Greenwich Magazine, Peter Barhydt, editor-in-chief, Greenwich Sentinel, Georgette Gouveia, features editor, Fairfield County Business Journal, Westfair Communications, and Maggie Bridge, partner and marketing manager, Sam Bridge Nursery & Greenhouses.

Topics covered by the panel included how to tailor a story for media, dos and don’ts for working with the press, and tips for increasing engagement and followers on social media.

“A vibrant economy is important to a healthy community, and the lessons learned from our media partners will help these businesses grow and expand in new ways,” French explains. “I am thankful to Greenwich Magazine, The Greenwich Sentinel, Fairfield County Business Journal and Sam Bridge Nursery for partnering with us on this great event and sharing their time and talents with us.”

“As a small business owner, navigating the landscape can be overwhelming on top of an already busy schedule,” said Marcia O’Kane, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce. “Providing valuable education to our members is a key element of our mission, and we were delighted to partner with White Plains Hospital to help local entrepreneurs gain insights that will help advance their businesses.”
