Three Christ Church Greenwich Choristers, Bee Healy, Annie Murphy, and Gianna Schwimmer, all received Silver Awards from the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM), the leading world-wide organization dedicated to the promotion of high quality church music. The three young musicians demonstrated superior skills in the areas of performance, vocal technique, musical knowledge, and Christian knowledge. RSCM is one of the premier music educational institutions in the world. These awards require rigorous training and commitment from choristers. The awards will be presented during services in the fall. Christ Church Music looks forward to entering several more candidates for these prestigious awards in the months ahead.
The music program at Christ Church Greenwich is well-known across the country for its focus on the advanced training of young musicians. Many choristers go on to study music at some of the leading universities in the United States and abroad, and some eventually follow musical careers of their own. Plans for the upcoming program year include a choir tour to Westminster Abbey in England, where the Coronation of King Charles took place.
Christ Church Music is currently accepting applications for chorister places for the fall of 2023. The program accepts all children regardless of prior musical experience or religious affiliation, and there is no tuition fee.
