RMA Presents: “The Men In Denmark’s Freedom Council”
Up until 1940, the Danish government had been complacent that the Nazis would not invade Denmark, even though Hitler had already invaded Poland and Sudetenland. After the Germans did invade on April 9, 1940, the Danish populace immediately organized a resistance movement, engaging in sabotage, sniper attacks, secret communications with the Allies, and an underground press to counter Nazi propaganda. The world’s democracies should have learned the lesson that complacency and appeasement only encourages further acts of aggression.
