Seventy of the more than 220 Greenwich Hospital volunteers celebrated on Tuesday, April 18 during a special luncheon at the Greenwich Country Club to mark National Volunteer Week.
Last year, Greenwich Hospital volunteers from Connecticut and New York provided 24,327 hours of service. Volunteers play a crucial role working in numerous departments throughout the organization, noted Sue Ellen Henry of Greenwich, Auxiliary president.
Volunteer efforts benefit Greenwich Hospital patients in many ways. The Auxiliary Thrift Shop, for instance, had a record $970,000 in revenue in fiscal year 2022, enabling the Auxiliary to donate $350,000 for an adolescent behavioral health program and $200,000 for a midwifery program.
“Greenwich Hospital is a better and brighter place because of our volunteers,” added Stacey Green, director of Volunteer Services.
