The Chambers Players of the Greenwich Symphony conclude their 51st season with a pair of concerts titled “Family Ties” on Sunday, April 23, 3pm at Round Hill Community Church, 395 Round Hill Rd, Greenwich, and Monday, April 24, 7:30pm at the Greenwich Arts Council, 299 Greenwich Ave.
The Chamber Players will perform George Enescu’s Aubade, Lili Boulanger’s D’un soir triste, D’un matin de printemps, Johannes Brahms’ Viola Sonata in E-flat major, Op. 120 No. 2, and Amanda Röntgen-Maier’s Piano Quartet in E minor.
Said artistic director and Chamber Player cellist Daniel Miller of the concert: “We hear the younger Boulanger sister’s evocative piano trio, followed by Brahms’ towering viola sonata. His and Clara Schumann’s family friend Amanda Röntgen-Maier’s astounding piano quartet is the finale.”
After being on hiatus during the pandemic, the complimentary “Wine and Cheese” receptions return for the 51st season, offering an opportunity to chat with the chamber musicians and friends. The receptions are after the Sunday concert, and during intermission of the Monday performance.
Single concert tickets for the 51st season are $35 for adults, $5 for students. Tickets can be purchased via the Chamber Players of the Greenwich Symphony website, www.chamberplayersofthegso.com, by phone 203-637-4725, or at the door.
