On Sunday, April 2 at noon, the Greenwich Center for Hope & Renewal will host a lunch and panel discussion focusing on teen mental health: the story behind the crisis of need among our youth, its impact on families and how we can help. Moderated by GCHR’s Executive Director, Reverend Erin Keys, the panel of experts will address the causes of this mental health epidemic and provide tools and strategies for bringing hope to our most vulnerable youth and their families. The lunch will be held at Greenwich County Club.
Proceeds from the event, which will also include an online auction, will benefit the “Hope Fund,” which provides financial assistance to individuals and families who are struggling to afford the cost of therapy.
Panelists will include two of GCHR’s staff therapists who focus in the areas of greatest need among teens, Joe O’Callaghan, LCSW, specializing in school-based mental health issues and Ranya Marjieh, LPC, specializing in adolescent anxiety and body imagery. Additionally, Emmy-nominated producer, Nancy Armstrong, Executive Producer of “The Disruptors” ADHD documentary will be on stage, along with Dr. Marcie Schneider, founder of Greenwich Adolescent Medicine.
Says the GCHR’s Executive Director, Reverend Keys, “We are thrilled to have such distinguished panelists who can help us understand the mental health issues facing young people and provide tools for how their families and the community at large can provide support and healing. Our hope is that people walking away feeling empowered and equipped to care for the teens in their lives and that families will be stronger and more resilient during these important years. I am so excited to learn from them, and to share this with our guests and supporters!”
