
Barbara Ann Monell Chimblo, 92, a longtime resident of Greenwich, CT, Englewood, FL and formerly of Port Chester, NY passed away January 19. She was born January 17, 1931 in Port Chester, NY to the late Harry and Hazel Fuhr Monell. She was raised and educated in Port Chester graduating from Port Chester High School, she went on to graduate from the New York Chiropractic Institute in New York City.
Barbara was married October 8, 1966 to Eugene Chimblo at North Baptist Church in Port Chester, NY. Mr. Chimblo died April 22, 2017. She was a retired chiropractor, and had a private practice in Port Chester, NY.
Barbara was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed hosting home cooked meals for her family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, Arthur Chimblo and his wife Doreen of Greenwich, CT. and Eugene J. Chimblo, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Greenwich, CT; grandchildren Eugene Chimblo, III, Chelsea C. Chimblo Smith and her husband Matthew, Gillian R. Chimblo, James W. Chimblo, Alan Johnson and his wife Tirissa, Wayne Jansen and Christopher Gibson and his wife Kaylee, great-grandchildren Ashlyn Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Corina Jansen and Eleanor Smith. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her stepson Dominick Chimblo, stepdaughter Jean McHale, brother Ted Monell and sister Faith Monell.
Visitation and Funeral Service were held Monday, January 23 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. in Port Chester, NY. Interment followed at Saint Mary’s Cemetery North St. Greenwich, CT.
