
Peter J. Reilley, age 80, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, January 14, at Bethel Health Care Center, where he was recovering from a broken hip.
Peter was born on April 7, 1942 in Greenwich, CT. He was predeceased by his father Philip F., mother Florence (Junkersfeld) Reilley, brother Dennan and sister Rita. He leaves his wife of 55 years, Carolyn (Oskin) of Newtown, his son Donald Philip and his wife Emily (Rosen) of Fairfield, CT: his son Scott Michael and his wife Heather (Lubrano) of Ridgefield, CT. His four granddaughters, Campbell, Erin, Tatum and Stella. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Peter attended St. Mary’s grammar school and he graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1961. He served in the Connecticut National Guard following high school. Peter joined the Putnam Trust Co in 1961. He was employed there for over 30 years supervising the bookkeeping and savings department. After leaving the bank he opened a Small Bookkeeping Service which he operated until his retirement in 2007. Peter’s greatest joy was his family. He was especially proud of his son’s and their families.
A memorial service is being planned for April at St. Mary’s Church in Greenwich.
