CT Cannabis Chamber comments on Cannabis sales

Connecticut Cannabis Chamber of Commerce comments on the opening of adult-use recreational cannabis sales:

After nearly 2 years of hard work by the Department of Consumer Protection, Social Equity Council, licensees, and stakeholders across the state; Connecticut’s long prohibition on cannabis has finally come to an end. The Department of Consumer Protection, the Connecticut Social Equity Council, and stakeholders across the industry  deserve our thanks for their tireless efforts to bring about this historic occasion. The hybrid-retailers that are opening today have been valuable members of their communities over recent years, and serve to spearhead an exciting time for all of  Connecticut.

“This industry is going to create more than 10,000 jobs over the next couple of years, and hundreds of millions in new revenue that will be reinvested in the communities most hard hit by the war on drugs. Today is historic, but the real story is about the benefits to come that will transform lives and communities.” said Adam Wood, President of the Connecticut Cannabis Chamber of Commerce.

“Starting today, communities most impacted by the decades-long war on drugs will be beneficiaries of revenue derived from this new and exciting industry,” said Deborah Caviness, Co-Founder of the Connecticut Cannabis Chamber of Commerce.

“The economic opportunity being unlocked today is historic on a statewide level. While there are still regulatory questions to be worked out, the work done to bring this day to fruition is remarkable,” said Dan Glissman, Co-Founder of the Connecticut Cannabis Chamber of Commerce.
