Elaine Louise Spang, a longtime resident of Ipswich, MA, formerly of Riverside, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2022 after a brief illness with her loving family at her side.
Elaine was born in Buffalo, New York on April 26, 1951 to John H. Spang and Helen L (Riley) Spang. After graduating from St. Mary Girls High School in Greenwich in 1969, Elaine attended Merrimack College in North Andover, MA. There she met her future husband Phillip M. DiPietro and in 1976 they were married at St. Eulalia Church in Winchester, MA. She earned a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) designation from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Elaine was pre-deceased by her parents John H. and Helen L. Spang and by Phillip M. DiPietro. She is survived by her sons Daniel A. DiPietro (Torrey) of Wellesley, MA and Michael J. DiPietro of Ipswich, her three grandchildren; Lyla, Quinn and Ryder DiPietro, her brother John H. Spang, Jr. (Jacqueline) of Old Greenwich, and her stepmother-in-law May DiPietro Futrell of Newburyport, MA
