Greenwich Hospital Board of Trustees welcomes new members

The Greenwich Hospital Board of Trustees recently elected five new members at its annual meeting as W. Robert Berkley, Jr, the board’s chairman, called the institution a “unique and extraordinary model for a community hospital” due to its strong relationship with Yale New Haven Health and Yale School of Medicine.

“We have the ability to offer both the personalized care of a small hospital and the intellectual capital and technical capacity of an academic health system. This defines and distinguishes us from many other institutions and changes the healthcare landscape for the communities we serve. We are unique, we are strong, and we are thriving,” Berkley told the audience at the September meeting in the Noble Conference Center.

Felice Zwas, MD, Chief of Staff, told board members she was especially “proud of all the hard work the medical staff has put into varied innovative initiatives promoting physician wellness and patient quality all the while excelling as top-of-class medical professionals.”

Joining the Board of Trustees are: Nancy Brown, MD, dean, Yale School of Medicine; Robert F. Carangelo, partner, Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP; Leslie Dahl, former managing director, Lone Pine Capita LLC; Carlos M. Hernandez, executive chair of Investment & Corporate Banking, JP Morgan Chase; and Pam Sutton-Wallace, chief operating officer, Yale New Haven Health. Berkley thanked outgoing trustees for their commitment: Chris O’Connor, Yale New Haven Health chief executive officer; Marc Gabelli; Frank Gilbride; Robin Kanarek; and Jack Mitchell.
