Greenwich Library presents the Musicians from Marlboro on Sunday, October 30, 3:00pm, in the Berkley Theater.

The first concert of the season features nine outstanding musicians performing works from three centuries. The season opener features musicians Lauren Pearl, soprano, Abigail Fayette, violin, Alina Kobialka, violin, Anna Lee, violin, Scott St. John, violin, Kei Tojo, viola, Sharon Wei, viola, Tony Rymer, cello, and Judith Serkin, cello. Respighi’s rarely performed Il Tramonto for voice and string quartet tells the story of two lovers and their tragic fate. Rene Orth’s You Shattered My Deafness incorporates text by St. Augustine in a dramatically reflective work. The evening ends with Mendelssohn’s Octet in E-flat Major, a piece brimming with energy and melody.
