‘Getting to Know Pollinators’ offers virtual walk through a local meadow

Greenwich Pollinator Pathway in collaboration with Conservation Commission present “Getting to Know Pollinators” – a virtual walk through a local meadow to spy on pollinators – on Thursday, October 13 at 6:30pm, and via Zoom. The event is free.

Along the way, Victor DeMasi, seasoned lepidopterist, will assist you to learn about the encountered species. He will introduce you to their life history and provide insight into their basic needs. Learning to identify plant species pollinators drew their pollen from, will help to create your own backyard habitat. Getting to know your pollinators will make the future walks through meadows and your own yard more enjoyable and interactive.

The program, hosted by the Cos Cob Library,  will mention current threats to pollinators and offer ways to restore their habitat and boost their population. This is an educational experience for all ages.

This presentation will be followed by two exhibits featured at Byram and Cos Cob Libraries. Museum quality specimens will be offered for viewing to the public and students of neighboring schools.
