Greenwich Together and the youth-led Yellow Tulip Project invite the community to join them to plant tulip beds of Hope at schools and around town, Saturday, October 8 at 10:30 AM. They’ll be meeting at Greenwich High School, Main entrance, and dispersing in groups to the planting locations from there. Please dress for the weather and gardening, and bring a trowel.
“The Yellow Tulip Project is a determined youth-driven movement that is tired of the silence surrounding mental illness, and ready to move mountains to bring change and to remind people that there is help and hope out there. The YTP is meant to let people know that “Hope Happens”. We are dedicated to helping people know that there are ways to get help, that people are there for them, and that circumstances can and will change.
Our mission is to smash the stigma surrounding mental illness and to build a community of people who realize that hope happens when youth and community leaders work together. We hope that someday mental illness will be as normal to talk about as any physical illness, and we are grateful for community support, and Greenwich Together for helping this effort.
Our message is simple and straightforward: come together – plant hope gardens – build community – talk about mental health and smash the stigma. We are proud of how The Yellow Tulip Project is spreading to communities across the US. Let’s get together and plant tulips for Hope!”
