Donald Hoer of Greenwich, passed away peacefully after a long illness on September 12, 2022, at the age of 69.
Donnie was born on September 20, 1952 to Walter and Phyllis Hoer and grew up in Yonkers, NY where he attended St. Eugene’s Elementary School and graduated from Roosevelt High School. He worked for Shemin’s Nursery in Greenwich for many years before retiring.
It was in his youth that his love of horses began at the Wilmot Stables in Eastchester, NY where he made many life-long friends. He was a longtime member of the Fairfield-Westchester Professional Horsemen’s Association and enjoyed riding his beloved horse, Brian.
Donnie had a hearty sense of humor, enjoyed good food and the company of his friends and loved ones.
He is survived by his two brothers and sister, 4 nieces, 3 nephews and a grandnephew.
A memorial service is planned for October 2, 2022, 12-2 p.m. at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home in Greenwich.
