Rock n’ Rescue welcomes up to 100 animals

Rock n’ Rescue announces that somewhere between 50-100 dogs, cats, guinea pigs and bunny rabbits will be on their way from the Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society in Kentucky. The final number won’t be determined until the end of the week. The animals will range in age from less than 2 months for some kittens up to senior pets. Rock n’ Rescue saves and adopts over 2000 animals per year, mainly pulling from kill shelters in the south.

The adoption event will be Saturday, September 17 from 1-4 pm at Choice Pet, 80 US-6, Baldwin Place, NY 10505. The animals will be microchipped, vaccinated and spayed or neutered before they are placed on transport. They will all be given a clean bill of health from a veterinarian in Bowling Green. Those too small to be spayed or neutered will be fixed here.

“We are delighted to be hosting the event for Rock n’ Rescue. We see the impact that these adoptions have on a daily basis and the bonds we see between owner and rescue animal is profound. We’re thrilled to deepen our current relationship with Rock n’ Rescue,” said Danielle Paraska, District and Digital Manager for Choice Pet.

“With this event we are trying to bring more attention to the therapeutic impact rescue animals have on their adopters. September is suicide prevention month and the number of adoptions we have done of therapy animals over the last 2-3 years has skyrocketed. We’d like people to realize that animals can be a major part of any recovery from physical or emotional ailments,” says Juli Cialone, Co-executive Director of Rock n’ Rescue. “We rescue pets to rescue people.”
