Response to Letter to the Editor: Climate change is an emergency

Response to Letter to the Editor: Climate change is an emergency; tackling it is also a huge opportunity (Greenwich Sentinel 8/4/2022)

We need a tipping point of concern about climate change so we don’t reach the tipping point of global warming. Mr. Winston mentions that “[l]ast year in California , just one wildfire the size of Rhode Island broke records – veteran firefighters said it was 10 times larger than anything they had ever seen.”

The current McKinney fire is already the largest this year so far in CA, exacerbated by drought and higher temperatures, both attributed to global warming. The end game for a healthy earth may be only 50 years away, unless we get our legislators to act, as they are beginning to in provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act, if it passes both houses.
