Democrats and Republicans have the opportunity to choose their candidates for various offices this coming Tuesday, August 9.
The primary features Connecticut statewide elections for both parties for Secretary of the State, which will be an open seat. The office was recently vacated by previous Secretary of the State, Denise Merrill, who did not complete her term of office. The current Secretary of the State, Mark Kohler is not seeking election.
Democrats will also choose a candidate for Connecticut state Treasurer. Republicans have already chosen Greenwich resident Harry Arora who will be on the ballot in November.
Republicans will be choosing their candidates for United States Senate to run against incumbent Richard Blumenthal; and for United States Congress serving the fourth district against incumbent Jim Himes.
All primaries and elections in Greenwich are open for voting between 6am and 8pm.
