Insulinde Reuser Albert, longtime resident of the town of Greenwich passed away peacefully at her home on June 27, 2022 at the age of 94 years young.
Born in Vienna, Austria, she was the daughter of Ernst and Else Reuser. As a young girl she lived through WWII in Vienna and fled to the outskirts with her family when their home was invaded by Russian soldiers. A graduate of Sacre-Coeur (Sacred Heart) in Vienna, Insulinde pursued a career in acting. In 1958 she moved to the US to marry Sidney J Albert and they eventually moved to Greenwich, CT where they both lived out the rest of their happy lives.
Together, they travelled throughout Europe, the Far East, Malaysia, South America and the US. Insulinde was a founding member of the Bailiwick Club in Greenwich and enjoyed tennis, swimming, dancing and hosting parties. Although widowed for nearly 40 years, she never faltered from her devotion to her husband’s love and memory.
She consistently attended weekly Mass at St. Mary’s and St. Paul’s in Greenwich. She loved animals and donated generously to over 25 different animal charities. She was strong, upbeat and incredibly generous with both her time and her assets and was a cornerstone of love and support to her friends and family. She will be remembered for her elegance, strength, kindness and charm but most of all for her gigantic heart which loved very, very big.
She is survived by her son, Ernest Albert; her daughter-in-law, Anne Bosak Albert; granddaughters, Jane and Kate Gerstner; and relatives, Marc Albert and Wendy Albert.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, July 1 at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Greenwich.
