Christ Church Greenwich has hired Josh Barton as as Director of Youth Ministry. Josh has sixteen years of experience as a full time Youth Minister in Gilbert, Arizona and Fairfield County. Most recently, he served for eight years as Student Ministry Pastor at Trinity Church, managing a team of 20+ volunteers and serving 100+ students. Josh has a gift for cultivating strong relationships with students, parents, volunteers, and congregants and organizes faith-based, ongoing group curriculums and discussion groups, week-long camps and events.
“At Christ Church we believe that raising children with faith powerfully affects their overall happiness and well-being, better able to process emotions, and are more compassionate. We are deeply committed to our Children and Youth Ministries, with programs appropriate for every age,” said The Rev. Marek Zabriskie.
“We’re super excited about Josh joining our team at Christ Church Greenwich. The average youth minister stays 18 months. To find someone with 16 years in the field is almost unheard of. Josh clearly knows how to minister with and support teens and their families, and very importantly he understands Greenwich extremely well. Josh’s theology is very compatible with the Episcopal Church today, which is also vital. He has also hired and mentored a lot of wonderful youth ministers, and we look forward to having him do the same here at Christ Church. We’re making a real investment in our youth and families at Christ Church, and this is a major step forward in that direction.”
