Obituary: Carol Carino

Carol Carino

Carol Susan Carino, age 73, of Shelton, peacefully entered into eternal rest after a short but fearless battle with cancer, surrounded by her adoring family in her home on Tuesday, April 12.

She was born in Port Chester, NY on Sept. 15, 1941, the daughter of the late Leonard and Helen (Sontag) Murray. Carol was a tireless employee for Social Services at Greenwich Town Hall where she devoted 39 years of her life before her retirement. Carol took tremendous pride in her work and truly enjoyed the time spent with her co-workers who became longtime friends. Carol was selfless in every meaning of the word and there was nothing she would not do for the ones she loved, family and friends included. Carol loved spending time in the kitchen, making her famous sauce and other delicious meals for her family. She spent much of her free time over the years knitting blankets for friends and family. Carol also loved the summertime, reading, listening to old music (especially Elvis) and the New York Yankees. But there was nothing she loved more than time spent with her family.

She is survived by her beloved son, Richard Carino, Jr. and his wife, Kimberly; and her cherished granddaughter, Stephanie Carino and her fiancé, William Ferris. She was predeceased by her brother, Leonard Murray.

Carol’s cremation has been entrusted to the Riverview Funeral Home, Shelton. A celebration of life will be hosted by her family on a later date to be announced by her family. Online condolences can be left for the family at riverviewfh.com
