The Greenwich Republican Town Committee will send 28 delegates, 23 regular delegates and 5 super delegates, which will be the largest delegation to the 2022 State Republican Nominating Convention. For the first time since the Greenwich RTC endorsed Julie Belaga, the organization voted to endorse candidates for contested elections prior to the convention.
“We are pleased to announce our endorsement of Leora Levy for US Senate,” the RTC wrote in a statement.
Levy said she is “honored and proud to have earned the endorsement of my hometown RTC, Greenwich.” She went on to say that she “will take the fight for our State and our Country to the voters of CT. Dick Blumenthal does not represent who we are as a Town or as a State. I am a pragmatic, principled Republican, who will never stop fighting for you, your family or our great state of Connecticut! Thank you so much.”
Jayme Stevenson was endorsed for US Congress and was reportedly deeply honored to receive the Greenwich RTC endorsement. “As a trusted leader, elected and re-elected six times by voters of all parties, I will bring my experience and my pragmatic, responsible attitude to Washington, D.C. to address our country’s most serious problems. The work of strengthening our Constitutional Republic can only happen when we elect principled leaders who will set aside partisanship to find common ground solutions steeped in our shared American values of Liberty and Freedom.”
Dominic Rapini was endorsed for Secretary of The State saying in a statement, “I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Greenwich Republican Town Committee. I share in their passion for our Constitution, freedom, and natural rights. We agree that we must protect the sanctity of the vote, clean up our voter rolls, and secure our elections. I will carry your support forward and on to November, thank you!”
Bob Stephanowski was endorsed for Governor and Jessica Kordas for Attorney General.
Harry Arora who is an electrical engineer with graduate degrees in both finance and public policy spent 20 years in the private sector managing investments before devoting himself to public service was endorsed for Treasurer. His experience in investing is particularly relevant to Connecticut’s pension system and its asset allocation.
Convention delegates will still cast individual votes at the convention and are not officially bound to the RTC’s endorsements.
