Carrie Barcus

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Carrie Barcus, age 46 of Greenwich. Carrie passed away at far too young an age on Feb. 14, just two years after being diagnosed with colon cancer.

Born on April 16, 1975 in New York City, Carrie is survived by her mother, Hope Barcus and her father, Alan Barcus. Growing up in Westchester County, NY, Carrie attended the Edgemont schools, The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, and Emerson College in Boston.

Carrie spoke from her heart. She had a delightful blend of charm, humor, kindness, and compassion. Against all odds, she was optimistic (dealing with cancer during Covid). Her deep love radiated for family, friends, and her “adopted” nieces and nephews.

As Maya Angelou said, “I learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” No doubt about it; Carrie made people feel good. Her legacy is one of honesty, gratitude, kindness, strength, wit and a wicked sense of humor; attributes that made an imprint in the minds and hearts of those whose lives she touched. She will be greatly missed and forever loved, leaving us all far too soon.
