NEWS ALERT: 8:00 PM: The polls for this election have closed and the results will be coming in shortly. 11,273 people voted representing 27.45% of eligible voters.
Today polls were open from 6am until 8pm to elect the state Senator representing the 36th district. This district encompasses parts of Greenwich, Stamford, and New Canaan.
Following the resignation of Democrat Alex Kasser from the senate seat two months ago, Alexis Gevanter (D) and Ryan Fazio (R) earned the nominations of their parties. John Blankley (D) also threw this hat into the ring earning a spot as a petition candidate.
