Gene T. Moran, 73, died suddenly on July 4, 2021. He is survived by his children, Michael Moran and Mollie Moran; his granddaughter, Sydney Brooke Moran; his former spouse, Margaret Moran; and his siblings, Peter Moran and Roberta Esposito.
A longtime resident of Greenwich, CT, Gene was born and raised in Port Chester, NY. He was one of three children born to Robert and Evelyn Moran. He graduated from Port Chester High School and then enlisted in the United States Navy. Following his honorable service, he worked and raised his family in Greenwich.
Gene is remembered for his love for his family, good friends and, of course, the Navy. He was happiest when telling stories, reminiscing about his Naval tour of the Mediterranean, and traveling. A favorite place for Gene to visit was Montauk, where he felt most at peace.
Visitation took place Friday, July 9 at Castiglione Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Putnam Cemetery on Saturday, July 10. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the “Soldiers, Sailors, and Marines Fund” via the CT American Legion.
