State Senator Alex Kasser (D-36) has announced her resignation. Her district covers all of Greenwich and parts of Stamford and New Canaan. Kasser cited her acrimonious divorce from senior Morgan Stanley executive Seth Bergstein as the reason for her resignation saying, “due to personal circumstances, I cannot continue. For nearly three years, I’ve been trying to divorce Seth Bergstein.” Kasser claims that her husband has attempted to destroy her and her long-time partner and that she must focus her full attention on those matters.
