On Friday May 28, 2021, Frederic Henry Brooks, Sr. passed away at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was 86. He is survived by his loving wife Jane; his sister Barbara; children Rick (Debbie), Kate, and Mark (Anlee); grandchildren Dani (Elise), Marissa, Rue, Elisheva (Akiva), Kaimei, Kaiya, and Kailan; and great-grandson Yosef.
A 1956 graduate of Columbia College, he served as chairman of Riddell Sports Group for many years. He was a passionate collector of Chinese antiquities. He served the Town of Greenwich as a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission and a board member of the Retired Mens’ Association.
A memorial service was held Sunday, May 30 at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Bruce Museum.
