As of 3:00 pm:

15 Completely blocked roadways.  Note- a roadway is considered blocked if an emergency vehicle, such as a fire engine, cannot pass through.  There are some roads that still have trees and wires downed, but many are just wires that impede emergency traffic.

57 Partial Openings– These are roads where a tree or wire is blocking one travel lane, but traffic is passable around the block.

39 Open with Debris– The roadway is open, but there still is debris, trees on the wire, and/or wires along the shoulder.

Greenwich Fire Department has responded to several fires during the restoration of power do to transfer switches being overloaded.  We remind those residents under generator power to reduce the load on their electric service by shutting off appliances that are not in use. Please speak with your electrician for more tips on how to reduce the load to your system under generator power.

The Emergency Operations Center would like to remind residents many wires are still hidden under branches and other debris. All wires need to be treated as live. Keep away from any wire on the ground. Electrocution can occur with a downed power line, or with the earth near a downed power line.
