Red Cross Welcomes Camillo to Board of Directors

The American Red Cross Metro New York North Chapter announces the addition of Fred Camillo to the organization’s Board of Directors.

“I could not be more honored to join an organization like the Red Cross, whose long history serving Greenwich and our country is legendary. I am very excited to start working with the Board of Directors and volunteers to advance the mission of this important community organization,” said Fred Camillo, First Selectman of the Town of Greenwich.

“We are extremely honored to have Fred join our Board of Directors. He demonstrates the spirit of the Red Cross every day through his commitment to Greenwich and to building strong and resilient communities,” said Stephanie Dunn Ashley, Metro New York North Red Cross Chapter CEO.

“Fred Camillo is a leader in our community, and we are so excited to have him join the Board of Directors to help elevate our mission here in Greenwich and across our Metro New York North Chapter,” said Giovanna Miller, Chair, Metro New York North Red Cross Board.

Before serving as First Selectman of the Town of Greenwich, Fred was a Connecticut State Representative for the 151stDistrict, serving for 11 years and as Assistant Minority Leader. His professional experience includes being a small business owner having founded Greenwich Recycling Co., work as a high school teacher, baseball coach, and mortgage banker. His community service includes serving the boards of Greenwich Council of Boy Scouts, the Greenwich Baseball Foundation, Greenwich Junior Babe Ruth League, the Greenwich Old Timer’s Athletic Association, the Cos Cob Association and Adopt-a-Dog.

He is a summa cum laude graduate of Manhattanville College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and history, and a Master of Arts degree in education.
