I have so much respect for Greenwich Police Department. Having rolled up my sleeves with many at the helm during various catastrophes and storms as a volunteer in the Emergency Operations Center. This is a well-oiled force comprised of outstanding, compassionate, professional men and women with a purpose to protect, educate and guide us all through challenges and safety in our town.
The Citizen’s Police Academy course is must for anyone wanting a candid glimpse inside the inner workings of what the magnitude of coverage and day to day at GPD.
Here you will learn/experience first – hand every aspect of law enforcement in a classroom, active patrol car, riding with the Marine Patrol, mock ops with the Swat Team and a view of the impressive CSI vehicle.
I propose that all residents enroll in this program, made available by GPD for everyone. It surely afforded me a deeper appreciation and understanding of the amazing work being done and the serious and dangerous challenges they face. It is with respect and gratitude that I applaud Chief Heavy and the entire force for caring about me and all of us as they do.
