

Larry Simon, Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Nathaniel Witherell, announced that John Mastronardi has been named the new Executive Director of The Nathaniel Witherell, the skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation facility owned and operated by the Town of Greenwich. Formerly Administrator of Montefiore/Schaffer Extended Care Center in New Rochelle, NY, Mastronardi assumed his new role at the Witherell on April 27. He replaces Allen Brown who retired last December.
Mastronardi brings over fifteen years of experience in operations and healthcare management to the Witherell. In addition to his work at Montefiore/Schaffer, he was administrator and executive director of Aging in America in the Bronx, NY, and held key management positions at Morningside House, also in the Bronx, including administrator/director of operations and director of information technology.
“John’s experience and fresh perspective will serve the Witherell very well,” says Simon. “He’s a goal-oriented administrator with a keen eye for driving performance and efficiencies. We’re excited to welcome him to help bring the Witherell to new levels of success.”

Mastronardi has worked in both short and long term care in all care settings, including assisted living, skilled nursing, and Memory Care. He holds a Master of Public Administration from Pace University and a Bachelor of Science, Behavioral Science-Health Informatics from Mercy College. He is a resident of Yonkers (Westchester), where he resides with his son, Cole.
