Kerry Gavin, Western Middle School Assistant Principal and event organizer, has shaved his head for the past seventeen years at his annual St. Baldrick’s event.

Western Middle School’s “Mane” Event will take place on Thursday, March 5 at 6:30 pm to benefit the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. This annual event enlists “shavees” to shave their head to raise money for childhood cancer research.

“From the parent band to the donations from local delis, and the volunteer event organizers to the fund-raising “shavees,” said Kerry Gavin, Western Middle School Assistant Principal and event organizer. “Western Middle School’s St. Baldrick’s event brings out the best in our community!”

St. Baldrick’s primary fundraisers are their popular head-shaving events (Western also welcomes ponytail donations of 8 inches or longer). Western’s events have raised over $37,000 in the past two years for this worthy cause.
