Greenwich Land Trust welcomed a new crop of teens in June, the first session of the summer Youth Corps program. In partnership with Greenwich Human Services, each summer, GLT provides local teenagers with a paid job in a professional and supportive setting, caring for Greenwich Land Trust nature preserves and improving habitat. The experience also offers an opportunity to explore career opportunities and issues in environmental-related fields.

Throughout their four-week session, the Youth Corps teens maintain the Land Trust vegetable garden, providing weekly fresh produce to the Neighbor to Neighbor food pantry. They have been putting lessons on conservation and land management into practice, such as using collected rainwater for the garden.
