Hilltop Music Collective Performs in ‘Wear Orange’ Concert

wear-orange-concert

The Hilltop Music Collective will be performing in a free “Wear Orange” chamber music concert on Sunday, June 9 at 3 p.m. to mark National Gun Violence Awareness Day.

Orange, the defining color of the gun violence prevention movement, is the color Hadiya Pendleton’s friends wore in her honor after she was shot and killed in Chicago at age 15. After her death, her friends asked others to stand up, speak out, and wear orange to raise awareness about gun violence.

Survivor and advocate, Tara Donnelly Gottlieb, will be speaking. The event will take place at St. Catherine of Sienna Church (Lower Level), 4 Riverside Ave. Book sale by Christ Church Bookstore. Doors open at 2:30 p.m.

The concert is hosted by the Greenwich Chapter of Moms Demand Action and YWCA Domestic Violence Services.
