Cavalier Ebanks Galleries announces Maarten Platje’s travelling exhibition, “The Early History of the United States Navy” will be coming to the Greenwich gallery for a special 10-day exhibition from April 8 to 18.

For the past five years, Platje (Dutch, b. 1967) has been working to bring to life the most important battles of the early United States Navy in a series of 15 oil paintings. Using both extensive historical research and surveys of the battle sites, Platje has accomplished the impressive feat of capturing what these battles would have realistically looked like with incredible accuracy.

During the exhibit, the gallery will present a video interview with the artist, in which he reflects upon on his inspiration for this outstanding collection.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. Cavalier Ebanks Gallery is located at 405 Greenwich Ave. For more information, contact 203-869-3664 or anna@cavaliergalleries.com, or visit cavaliergalleries.com
