The Greenwich Sister City International Committee invites the community to come celebrate Lunarfest, Year of the Pig, with the Yale – China Association and The City of New Haven on Saturday, Feb. 16, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in New Haven.
Lunarfest is a celebration of the Lunar New Year and Chinese culture, offering arts and cultural programs for adults and children throughout the city of New Haven and at Yale.
The day kicks off with a parade at 10 a.m. down Whitney Avenue and Audubon Street (between Grove and Trumbull Street). Then, head indoors to visit venues with special activities and programs featuring art, music, literature, and dance. For additional information, please visit lunarfest.yalechina.org or call Tina Stow at 203-898-4288.
Those attending can also march in the parade, if they would like, under the Greenwich Sister City Committee banner. Children are especially welcome.
The event is free. Please call Tina Stow to register if interested in marching.
