On Saturday, Jan. 26, join the millions of people around the world who celebrate the birthday of brilliant Scottish bad boy bard Robert Burns with dinner, music, poetry, and a wee dram in an evening called a Burns Supper, a tradition that began in 1801. On or near Jan. 25 every year, an estimated nine million people globe raise a glass to the man, myth, and legend most famous for writing Auld Lang Syne.
The Greenwich Pipe Band will play rousing tunes and Stefanie Kies will wow the audience with beautiful renditions of Burns’ songs.
This event is the fourth annual Burns Supper organized by a Greenwich resident who is an alumna on behalf of The University of Edinburgh.
The event starts at 5 p.m. and will take place at First Presbyterian Church of Greenwich, 1 West Putnam Ave. There’s a fee of $65-$80. Hors d’oeuvres, dinner, dessert, and entertainment are all included.
