Land Trust Holds Winter Walk

winter-walk

Join the Greenwich Land Trust for a Winter Walk Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 1 p.m. After the foliage fireworks of autumn, most people aren’t interested in the natural beauty of trees in the winter. They often think of the winter forest as a monochromatic stand of brown and grey trunks. But on this guided walk through the 40-acre Lapham Preserve, you will learn how to identify trees without their leaves by taking a closer look at the diverse features of bark, branches, and buds. Attendees will also enjoy a varied winter landscape and learn about the many strategies flora and fauna employ to survive the winter.

The walk covers mostly flat but mixed terrain. All ages are welcome. Sturdy, waterproof footwear along with warm clothes are recommended.

The program is free.
