Clara Rosaria Borchetta died at home on Nov. 23, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was 95 years old. Clara was born in Greenwich on Jan. 19, 1923 to Petro and Rosaria (nee Infanti) Borchetta. She graduated from Greenwich High School. Clara worked for the Town of Greenwich in the Parks and Recreation Department for 35 years before retiring. Previously she worked at Fawcett Publications. She was active in St. Roch’s Senior Citizens. She was best friends of the late Jennie Laska with whom she spent many hours at Byram Shore reminiscing about their youth. Clara raised her niece, Margaret R. Laska (nee Cushing) and later lived with Margaret and her husband Frank J. Laska until her death. She was a second mother to Margaret and a truly great-aunt to Nicole Alexandra Harris, Kristen Elizabeth Harris and Danielle Outlaw.
Clara was predeceased by her siblings, Ida Cushing, Al Borchetta, Charles Borchetta, Gene Borchetta, Frank Borchetta, Rocky Borchetta and Mike Borchetta.
To honor her life, family will greet friends on Wednesday, Nov. 28 from 9 to 11 a.m., at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave. Committal will be private. In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of your choice is recommended.
