Jaclyn Avidon, Board of Directors of the Amateur Astronomers Association of New York, will speak on “Exploring Pluto: New Horizons Update,” on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 3:30 p.m., in the Cole Auditorium of Greenwich Library.

For many years, not much was known about the small, icy, ninth rock from the Sun. Pluto was our smallest planet, billions of miles away and very hard to observe. In 2006, that all began to change, as the New Horizons mission set off to explore the newly coined dwarf planet. Since New Horizons’ arrival at Pluto in 2015, our knowledge of the dwarf planet has increased exponentially. Come learn about all the latest from Pluto, including spectacular new photos.
